    Question Observation POS Question

    AAPC: Back to School
Can the codes 99234-99236 be billed with a POS 21? I was told recently that they can be submitted with either a POS of 21 or 22. I never heard that before and wanted some opinions and or references that anyone might have.

observation is always outpatient, POS 22. Where did you hear you could use 21?
