    Default Consult over phone

    AAPC: Back to School
A rehab counselor wants to set up a 45min appt with our physician over the phone to discuss a mutual patient. Can our physician bill the patient's medicaid for this?

    Default No

No. Medicaid, and other government payers, require a face-to-face encounter with the patient.

    Hope that helps.
