Am I the only one?

It has been my understanding that you can only use grafts for procedures that they are FDA approved/indicated for.

For example using a dermal(skin) graft to augment/reinforce a tendon. I thought skin grafts could only be used/billed for skin surgeries, not for the use on tendons.

Am I crazy? Does anyone have any information on this subject???

My doc is questioning, he did arthroplasty MPJ toe, used graft jacket soft tissue spacer as implant at MPJ. It makes no sense to me, he wants to bill for the graft jacket but I dont see how a soft tissue graft can be indicated for a joint implant?
