    Smile Anesthesia Billing/Coding

    AAPC: Back to School
Hello, are the actual provider signaures required on the anesthesia record? Or can someone else indicate the providers on the case? We have a couple of accounts where it would appear that someone else is writing who is on the case. Unlike other accounts where there is a line for the MD to sign his name and a line for the CRNA, these records have an area where someone may write a name in, including on behalf of the MD. Thank you for your help

Yes any provider that is on a case must sign the anesthesia record. They must also sign even if there any relief given on the case and must document the times they are on the case as well. Hope this helps,
