    Question Possible HIV exposure
    Exam Training Packages
We had a 3 year old come in to be checked and tested for HIV as both parents are positive. Grandparent has custody so she hasn't lived with them since she was a few months old. What diag would you suggest for this?? thanks

If the child has no signs or symptoms to prompt the test maybe you could use V01.79 (Contact with or exposure to communicable diseases other viral diseases).......

If the order was for screening then I would use that one also.

i would definetly agree with V7389. this person is being screened for this disease and not necessarily exposed. It doesn't say exposure so i'd be careful with assigning that as the code
