Hip joint v extremity

I do not work as a coder but would like some advice for my workplace. We are finding a problem with the orders presented versus the actual procedure for CT hip. Could I get some tips on coding the hip joint v hip extremity? The order and auth are for CT hip extremity but is coded as a CT joint and therefore not being paid.

I presume we need to bring together several parties to solve this issue. However, do you have any tips on explaining the situation?

Could it possibly be the diagnosis you are using? And what CPT are you using? This would help us help you.
