Pt had a open FDS tendon repair 7 days priorfor a tear. Pt recently reinjured that tendon and needed to be taken back to OR. Prev sx incision is not open when pt presented for new injury.

OP: I opened prev incision in the middle finger and explored the wound. the FDS tendon was ruptured....elected not to repair this. Incision was irrigated and closed with Vicryl suture. pt returned to PACU in stable condition...

previous suture site was not dehisced when taken to the OR. I dont feel 20103 is correct and am struggling with complex wound repair vs intermediate repair since tendon was not repaired.

    Any advise?
    Thanks in advance,

Code a repair to the tendon in question with Mod -52. That will cover opening, explor, closing and the risk involved. If you don't like that, you'll have to use the unlisted.
