27096 for Part A Medicare

  1. Default 27096 for Part A Medicare
    Medical Coding Books
I haven't done much Part A billing so looking for a little assistance. Can anyone assist on how Medicare wants the cpt 27096 billed for Part A and/or what revenue code they are wanting? Originally, when checking it was noted it was not even listed on the fee schedule through if the provider feels this is medically necessary to perform this then how does Medicare want this billed to them? Has anyone billed this for Part A and would know how we are to do so?

Any help or guidance on this would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure about Part A, but our MCR carrier doesn't recognize 27096. I bill it with

Is it being done in an ASC? I did find this code (G0260) and the G0259 but trying to find out if that is only for ASC now or not too?...Sorry just trying to figure this all out

It is in an ASC. I worked for a billing company previously that billed for ASC's that were covered under Trailblazers and that is where we started billing the G0260, I am not familiar with MCR part A billing though. If it is listed on your fee schedule I would bill it. Good Luck!
