Unsatisfactory pap smears

If the cytotech reads a pap smear and finds that the specimen is unsatisfactory for interpretation, can i bill 88142 because the smear has been reviewed if i use 795.08 (unsatisfactory pap)? If yes, then would i need any special coding when the repeat specimen comes in to indicate that this replaces the first specimen? Most of my patients are medicare or medicaid.

I have a similar question about billing for the pathologist's review of the specimen...can we bill for the 88141? If so, or if not, does anyone have references to that information?

    Thank you!
