    Question Consultation or Office Visit?
    Medical Coding Books
I am having some issues deciding between whether a visit should be a consultation or an office visit. Can you please assist with the following:

    1. Patient referred to us by the ED for treatment, Consult or OV?

    2. Patient referred for lesion removal from a Dermatologist. Consult or OV?

Thanks for helping to clarifying this for us.

I would say they are both office visits, not consults because there is a transfer of care.
