I'm wondering if anyone else is running into problems trying to submit prenatal/delivery claims to various payers since 1/1/12 when the 5010 requirements when into effect? In Michigan we have a couple payers that require the prenatal dates be listed in box 19 - one problem we are running into is trying to list all the dates - we are now limited to 80 characters and there are times when we exceed that number. Our clearinghouse suggested putting the OB dates on the comments of the service line - we have not done this previously and I'm wondering if anyone else has and if you are getting the claims through okay that way? Thanks for any input.
