    AAPC: Back to School
    If a physician see's a patient on consult in the ER and the patient is then discharged later that day from the ER what code set would be used the E/M New/Estab?

    I would use 9924x if it truely was a consult. Unless, it is a plan that does not accept consult codes, then I would use the ER codes.
