Neurointerventional coding

    Help! I am extremely new at coding for this and would like someone else's opinion.
    1. Right transfemoral cerebral angiogram selective right common carotid artery cervical views.
    2. Selective right common carotid artery intracranial views.
    3. Selective left common carotid artery cervical views.
    4. Selective left interal carotid artery intracranial views.
    5. Selective left subclavian artery cervical views
    6. Selective left vertebral artery intracranial views

    I coded
    36216 for the right common carotid
    36216-59 for the left internal carotid
    36216-59 for the left vertebral

    Is this correct?

    Hi ,

    The basic rule for IVR procedures is that the starting and the destination of the catheter should be very clearly mentioned .

    In your documentation it lacks , you have provided us the highlights of the cath placement it is not the sufficient .

    All the interventional procedures should have a S&I code !!

    It is something like taking the pictoral view where and the DR. feels is necessary , for which , we bill for ... in this area , the documentation is lacking ..

    As per the document provided by you , the catheter is selected in all the levels ... please provide a complete documents , so that i could assist you ...
