Learn more about this event

Hospital coding is a real challenge for coders and the documentation is often difficult to interpret. This session will cover the Initial vs Subsequent visits detailing what elements must be documented based on the condition of the patient. Consults are requested in the hospital setting, with various methods of billing for the services are available based on the payer. It is not uncommon for services in the in-patient setting to be performed by multiple providers. Documentation guidelines and billing rules for shared visits will be reviewed.
