About the Boot Camp

Boot camp is an intense and detailed course aimed to provide coding concepts and principles to promote correct coding. The course will prepare participants for the American Academy of Professional Coders, Certified Professional Coder examination. While preparing for the exam is a benefit, the most important tool participants will receive is the concrete foundation of medical coding.

Class lectures, discussions and coding scenarios will be used during the three day boot camp.  Class begins Day 1 & 2 8:00am-2:30pm (Tutoring provided) and Day 3 8:00 am-11:00a. Please prepare to stay longer if class runs longer. There is a lot material to cover in a relative short amount of time given the volume of content to be covered.

Due to the intense structure and pace of Boot Camp, it is recommended that students have knowledge in Medical Terminology and Anatomy. Medical Terminology and Anatomy discussed during the course is limited to that identified in the Current Procedural Terminology.

Students should have experience with HCPCS, ICD-10-CM and CPT. There is no prerequisite for students to attend a Boot Camp.
