Boards and Committees

National Advisory Board

The role of the National Advisory Board (NAB) is to advise the AAPC leadership on issues, trends and member needs and enthusiastically promote and support the mission of AAPC and the business of healthcare. The NAB works with the national office for the betterment of the entire membership and the healthcare community through active participation in nationally sponsored conferences, events, publications, educational programs and activities. The NAB members write articles and speak at local chapters, conferences and other healthcare-related events. Each NAB representative becomes an ambassador for AAPC and its members.

Chapter Association Board

The AAPC Chapter Association (AAPCCA), the Governing Board for AAPC Local Chapters, was established to create, maintain, and sustain the infrastructure, through approachable and accountable representation, necessary to empower local chapters to function in support of the AAPC "Upholding a Higher Standard". The Board provides policy, rules, regulations, direction, and advice to the AAPC local chapters and is also charged with ensuring that the local chapters function in accordance with the mission of the AAPC.

The Legal Advisory Board serves in an advisory capacity to the national office of AAPC, the AAPC National Advisory Board, and the AAPC Chapter Association. Members occasionally author articles on compliance and legal issues associated with medical coding for AAPC the Magazine, and speak on legal issues at AAPC events.

AAPC Advisory Committees

AAPC Advisory Committees serve as advisors to different branches of Revenue Cycle Management: Coding, Billing, Auditing, Documentation, Compliance, and Practice Management.
