Examinations are proctored through AAPC local chapter and Professional Medical Coding Curriculum (PMCC) sites. These examinations are proctored by AAPC's approved local chapter officers, instructors or staff.

Important: Examination dates will not appear online after the "four week registration deadline".
When your examination application has been processed, you will be able to view the
proctor's name and telephone number on our website under the member log in area
under My Scheduled Events. Contact the proctor for further details of the examination
time and location, if it is not listed there. (Refer to the Examination Application
"How to Apply")
Several examination sites have limited seating. Registrations are processed in the
order they are received, so register early.
Application Approval: In order for the application to be processed
and approved, all required documents must be submitted to the AAPC’s office at
least four weeks prior to the examination date. Incomplete applications, or those
received less than four weeks before the examination date, will not be processed.
Examination payments are processed whether or not applications are accepted and
may be applied to a future examination date. If examination application is not processed
for any reason you will be notified by email.
Note: To reflect updates in the recognized code sets

CPT®,
ICD-9-CM, and
HCPCS Level II), the AAPC develops new CPC
®, CPC-H
®, CPC-P
®, or CIRCC® examinations
yearly. The AAPC only offers the current year examination.
