To help individuals prepare for the CPC® exam, the AAPC has developed the CPC® Exam Study Guide. In each chapter of the study guide, pertinent physician coding principles are followed by coding scenarios related to that chapter. The study guide is not an introduction to coding but a review of coding concepts.
The study guide includes all the content sections found on the exam. Using an easy-to-follow outline format, the text covers anatomy and terminology for each body area, reimbursement issues and an overview of CPT®, ICD-9-CM and HCPCS coding.
