more than a year of development, we are pleased to announce the CPPM® credential
(Certified Physician Practice Manager®). The requirements of managing the revenue
cycle, compliance regulations, human resources, health information, and general business
processes make practice management a challenging yet rewarding
profession. This certification is a logical next step for many of our members with strong
experience in coding and billing who are ready to advance their careers in practice management.
The certification also provides current managers validation of their knowledge and verifies
their expertise in this skilled profession. No matter your current position, the CPPM® credential

- 7:30 am: Check In
- 8 am – 9:45 am: Introduction to Health Care Business Process and Workflow
- Learn to recognize the various levels of providers, places of service, and the patient-care
flow process
- Gain a basic vocabulary and conversational familiarity with health care business terms
- 10 am – Noon: Principles of Physician Reimbursement
- Become familiar with essential billing and coding concepts including insurance payment models
- Noon – 1 pm: Lunch
- 1 pm – 3 pm: Healthcare Revenue Cycle Management
- Understand how to effectively manage the revenue cycle to collect billed charges
- Learn how to use specific ratios and reports to track RCM effectiveness
- 3:15 pm – 5 pm: Basic Principles of Medical Office Accounting
- Understand basic principles of structuring an effective chart of accounts for accounting accuracy
- Understand basic financial reports all businesses must use
- Learn how to use income statements to plan for financial success
- 8 am – 9:45 am: Healthcare Reform and Quality
- Understand principals in recent health care reform
- Become familiar with major concepts of quality in Health Care
- 10 am – Noon: Electronic Medical Records
- Explore factors of selecting and implementing an Electronic Medical Record
- Noon – 1 pm: Lunch
- 1 pm – 3 pm: Modern Health IT and Interoperability
- Learn how information technology will be used in the future of health care
- Understand the concept of Interoperability and Health Information Exchange
- 3:15 pm – 5 pm: HIPAA and Data Security
- Observe standards in patient data security including secure network structures
- Become familiar and comfortable with HIPAA privacy and security rules
- 8 am – 9:45 am: Human Resource Management
- Gain a working knowledge of Human Resource management in the medical practice setting
- Basic understanding of corporate governance structures
- Learn basic skills of hiring staff and creating employment policies
- Become familiar with physician and mid level provider recruiting and the credentialing process
- Learn about basic tools to evaluate and effectively lead employees to success
- 10 am – Noon: Fraud and Abuse and Corporate Compliance
- Acquire a general knowledge of industry compliance requirements
- Overview of Fraud and abuse laws

- Understand the basic and effective principles of marketing in physician practices
- Understand how to effectively work with outside vendors and value of these relationships
- 3:15 pm – 5 pm: Space Planning and Operational Flows
- Acquire basic understanding of space planning and efficient operational flows in a clinic

Boot Camp Cancellation Policy
A full refund (less a $50 cancellation fee) will be given for any cancellation received
by August 31, 2012. No refunds will be given for cancellations requested after August 31, 2012. Refunds will not be given for “no shows.”
Hotel Cancellation Policy
All cancellations must be made seven (7) days prior to arrival date to receive a refund.
Cancellations made less than seven (7) days prior to arrival will be charged a fee.
No shows will not receive a refund.

Location: At the training room Wednesday morning prior to start of first session
Dress Code
Appropriate attire for sessions and networking events is smart casual. We suggest
wearing comfortable shoes due to the amount of walking.
Comfortable dress is encouraged, but look professional.
