CMS Fixes Base Value Error

You'll get paid more for 00797

CMS re-evaluated code 00797 (Anesthesia for intraperitoneal procedures in upper abdomen including laparoscopy; gastric restrictive procedure for morbid obesity) as part of last year's Five Year Review and agreed to increase the base unit value to 11 unites.  The 2007 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule, however, did not include the increase.  The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) identified this error earlier in the year and sought adjustment.
