Allergy to Cement? Report This Dx

Question: When a patient has allergic contact dermatitis to cement dust, how should I choose an ICD-10 code?

Utah Subscriber

Answer: The diagnosis code for that condition is L23.5 (Allergic contact dermatitis due to other chemical products). In addition to contact dermatitis to cement, use L23.5 when you see these other terms in the encounter notes:

  • Allergic contact dermatitis due to insecticide
  • Allergic contact dermatitis due to plastic
  • Allergic contact dermatitis due to rubber.
