Health IT-Related Targets on OIG Priority List

If you were planning on beefing up your compliance efforts, the HHS Office of Inspector General (OIG) recently released a breakdown of its to-do list.

Details: As part of a presentation for the HCCA Compliance Institute, OIG updated its online guidance with a handout titled “10 Key Compliance Priorities,” which offers a window into what the federal watchdog is homing in on. Several of the compliance hot spots concern technology and digital health.

In addition to perennial favorites like Medicare program integrity, value-based care, substance abuse, and skilled nursing facilities, OIG plans to shine its investigative spotlight on cybersecurity, telehealth, health equity, and information blocking.
