Submit 2020 Medicare PI Data ASAP

If you haven’t submitted your Promoting Interoperability (PI) Program data for 2020 yet, the deadline is around the bend. Heads up: “The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) reminds all Medicare Promoting Interoperability Program participants that the deadline to submit 2020 data is April 1, 2021 at 11:59 PM ET,” an alert says. PI participants can both register and attest through CMS’ quality portal at https://qualitynet.cms.gov. Medicare Eligible Hospitals and Critical Access Hospitals (CAHs) can use the portal to send their data while “Medicaid Eligible Professionals (EPs), Eligible Hospitals, CAHs should follow the requirements of their State Medicaid agencies to submit their meaningful use attestation,” CMS notes. Dual-Eligible Hospitals and CAHs demonstrating meaningful use should also submit through the CMS’ quality portal, when they qualify for both the Medicare and Medicaid PI Programs.
