Here's what you need to know about VistA-Office EHR:

  •  Cost = $2,700 licensing fee per physician
     
  •  Release date = Aug. 1, 2005, though CMS may not meet that deadline
     
  •  Contractors = WorldVistA (www.worldvista.org) is the vendor support organization; Daou Systems is working with CMS, VHA and the Iowa Foundation for Medical Care to prepare the technology for physician use.
