Avoid Appeals Duplication With This RHHI Tool

If you want to appeal your first-level claim decision to the Qualified Independent Contractor (QIC), know what to include in the appeal -- and what not to. "Providers DO NOT need to resubmit documentation that was submitted as part of the first level appeal," RHHI Palmetto GBA says in a new job aid on the first level appeal decision letter. "This will be forwarded by the contractor to the QIC." Providers should include any new documentation, though. The letter should list what documentation was missing from the appeal, the aid says.
