Chain Buys Hospital-Based Home Care Units

Gentiva Health Services Inc. has purchased the Home Health and CAP/Avery Home Care service lines from Appalachian Regional Healthcare System in Boone, N.C. The programs generally served between 230 and 250 clients, and the division had about 110 employees, reports the Wautauga Democrat newspaper. Gentiva allegedly terminated employee health insurance coverage the hospital formerly offered, the newspaper says.
