Duplicative Medical Records Submission Eliminated For RAC Appeals

Your RAC appeals process should get a little less burdensome if Palmetto GBA is your Medicare contractor. Then: Previously, if a provider filed an appeal to Palmetto about a Recovery Auditor Contractor denial, Palmetto requested the medical records the provider already sent to the RAC. Now: "Palmetto GBA will no longer request records in these instances," it says on its website. It will use the records submitted to the RAC to conduct the review of the appeal.
