Industry Note:

Shadow Your CAHPS Vendor

You -- not your vendor -- will be left holding the bag if your vendor fails to submit your Home Health CAHPS data on time, stressed CMS's Debra Dean-Whittaker in the agency's Aug. 22 Open Door Forum for home care providers. Check your monthly data submission reports available on the HHCAHPS website to ensure your vendor is doing its job, or your PPS payment rates will be docked 2 percent."We strongly urge you to do this," Dean-Whitaker told attendees. "Failure of your vendor to submit data can cause you problems. Be aware of what's going on."
