Industry Note:

Turn To This Resource For Emergency Waiver Info

Waivers of some regulatory requirements went into effect in certain parts of Missouri due to the tornadoes, storms, and flooding, HHH MAC Palmetto GBA points out on its website. For affected home health agencies, that means they could abbreviate the OASIS assessment to the patient tracking sheet and 24 M0 payment items, CMS notes in a question-and-answer set about emergency procedures. CMS Administrator Donald Berwick authorized the waivers retroactively to May 22, Palmetto says in the provider education article. The Q&As are online at www.cms.gov/Emergency/downloads/MedicareFFS-EmergencyQsAs1135Waiver.pdf.
