Industry Notes:

Help Is Available For Comparative Billing Reports

Wondering what to make of the comparative billing report you received from CBR contractor SafeGuard Services earlier this year? Call into a free Q&A audio presentation from SGS to find out. When: SGS will hold the audio presentation on March 16 at 2 p.m., it says on its website. You can sign up for the event at www.safeguardservicesllc.com/cbr/events.asp. "The CBR allows a hospice to examine its billing practices and compare them with those of its peers, potentially assisting in improved compliance and care quality and helping drive better-informed business decisions," NAHC says in its member newsletter. Correction: All Medicare-certified hospices in the nation received the CBRs, since the number of hospices is lower than the 5,000 report limit set per topic. An earlier Eli's Home Care Week article said half of hospices would receive the comparative billing reports.
