Rehab Facility Chain Buys 5th Largest HH Company

Inpatient rehab facility chain Health-South Corp. has agreed to buy the parent of Encompass Home Health and Hospice, for about $750 million, the Birmingham, Ala., company says in a release. Dallas-based Encompass is the fifth largest provider of Medicare-focused, skilled home health services in the U.S., HealthSouth says.
