CMS Introduces New Survey Methodology

Guidance the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has issued for 2020 “includes a revised method of evaluation and revised criteria associated with the Documentation of Deficiencies for … Home Health Agencies (HHAs), Hospice,” and other providers’ “scoring measure for standard and complaint surveys to reduce subjectivity and burden,” CMS says in a memo dated Oct. 17.
