FBI Raids Hospice And Its Physician Owner In Lone Star State

FBI agents and Texas State Troopers raided the Houston and Beaumont offices of Harbor Hospice, according to news reports. The FBI told KHOU 11 News the raids were part of an ongoing investigation. The investigation is based on the hospice’s parent, Harbor Healthcare, and its founder, physician Qamar Arfeen. The feds also raided the parent’s office and Dr. Arfeen’s pulmonology practice. Harbor Healthcare released a statement saying it was cooperating with authorities and that it was “optimistic this matter will be resolved quickly and we have retained counsel to assist in this inquiry,” KHOU 11 reports.
