Financial Employee Fleeces Hospice

Keep a close eye on your administrative employees, or you could find yourself in the undesirable situation of Abbey Hospice in Social Circle, Ga. Staffer Christine Rahl was in charge of payroll and gave herself unauthorized raises and submitted false expenses for herself, Rahl has admitted in a guilty plea for embezzlement and money laundering, the Department of Justice says in a release.
Rahl illegally appropriated $1.6 million from the hospice and its parent, Marmalade Health, over five years, the DOJ says. Rahl could face up to 10 years in prison at sentencing.
