Use new tools from CMS to help you get ready for the new data gathering instrument.
You can’t ignore it any longer — the deadline to start using the Hospice Item Set is almost upon you.
It helps to finally have an official final version of the HIS that goes into effect July 1. It actually contains no changes from the pre-Office-of-Management-and-Budget-approved version, CMS confirms. The form is in the “Downloads” section at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/Hospice-Quality-Reporting/Hospice-Item-Set-HIS.html.
And technical training modules are now available at www.cms.gov/Medicare/Quality-Initiatives-Patient-Assessment-Instruments/Hospice-Quality-Reporting/Spotlight.html.
Watch for the updated version of the HIS Manual to post to the site soon, CMS adds. The agency already has posted a change table from the current to upcoming version, but the Manual itself in not available quite yet.
