Hospices are a target in the HHS Office of Inspector General's top challenges for the year.

In its annual summary of the most significant management and performance challenges facing the Department of Health and Human Services, the OIG highlights problems with the hospice industry. In a recent OIG audit, "for more than 60 percent of claims, hospices did not meet federal requirements for establishing adequate plans of care," says the report which is online at http://go.usa.gov/nLY.
