Multi-State Chain Adds West Coast Hospice Location

The Ensign Group has expanded its presence in Southern California. The Mission Viejo, Calif.-based post-acute parent has acquired Guardian Angel Hospice and two Shea Family Care home care businesses in San Diego, the company says in a release. The acquisitions run by Ensign’s Cornerstone Healthcare unit will operate under the names Seaport Home Health, Seaport Hospice, and Safe Harbor Home Care, Ensign notes.
The acquisition brings Ensign’s portfolio to 11 hospice agencies, 13 home health agencies, and two home care businesses, in addition to its other post-acute facilities.
