Question: A 60-year-old male undergoes prostatectomy. His reports do not reveal the presence of anemia, high blood pressure, or high blood sugar either. What DRGs shall we place him in?

Answer: Reports suggest that he does not have any minor or major complications or co morbidities. Assuming so, the Major Diagnostic Category (MDC) for the patient would be 11(Disease and disorder of the kidney and urinary tract). The DRG undoubtedly would be 667 (Prostatectomy W/O CC/MCC).
