RESEARCHERS DISCOVER POSSIBLE NEW TARGET FOR ALZHEIMERS TREATMENT

What's in an enzyme? Perhaps a new target for the battle against Alzheimer's disease. Researchers recently found that an enzyme called BACE is consistently found to be elevated and more active in plaque-ridden parts of the brains of people with the memory-stealing disease. BACE and one other enzyme are required to form the plaques, according to the study published in the September Archives of Neurology.
