To inject a little fun into staff education and prevent flu to boot, sponsor a facility-wide poster contest on infection control.
Then display the posters as infection-control tools throughout the facility--for example, put one in the medication room, others in the halls and other places to remind people of the basics, suggests Judy Gross, RN, C, CDONA/LTC, RAC-C, a consultant with LBK Health Care Inc. in Dayton, OH.
