Following criticism from key lawmakers about the content of the Nursing Home Compare site, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services decided to post the results of complaint surveys online. Along with the results of the three most recent inspections for all covered nursing homes, the site now lists health deficiencies for facilities cited as a result of investigations following complaint filings, CMS says. While regular inspections occur every nine to 15 months, complaint inspections occur whenever warranted. Confirmed problems resulting from these onsite investigations will now appear on the site.
