Have you made the transition to the 2007 ICD-9-CM codes? Keep in mind that the fiscal intermediary will reject 2006 codes if you use them incorrectly on or after Oct. 1. To keep data accurate and expedite reimbursement, make sure to obtain and distribute new or updated coding books. Also collect and destroy or update your old coding cheat sheets. In addition, contact your software company, if you haven't already, to get an update installed and then test the software to make sure the changes are correct.
