"Eight Days a Week" is not enough to show you care, according to the old Beatles song. But capture more than seven days of therapy on the MDS, and your SNF could end up singing the medical review blues.
Mistakes in the number of days recorded in P1b can occur when "the rehab team focuses on capturing five days of therapy, but the resident only received four in the last seven days for some reason," notes Cathy Sorgee, RN, a consultant with The Broussard Group in Lake Charles, LA. As a result, the rehab staff inadvertently adds a day to the lookback to capture the therapy days and minutes.
