Watch For 2 Revised Figures In RAI Manual Changes

Table no longer mentions Medicare PPS Readmission/Return assessment.
In addition to all the other changes recently made to the RAI Manual, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) also revised an algorithm and a table in Chapter 2. Find out why.
Chapter 2, page 2-38, Entry, Discharge, and Reentry Algorithms: CMS updated this figure to reflect the change in the situations that require an Admission assessment and the revised definition of “reentry.”
Chapter 2, page 2-80, Expected Order of MDS Records: CMS has changed this table’s column header “PPS 5-day or readmission/return” to “PPS 5-day,” because the Medicare PPS Readmission/Return assessment no longer exists.
