Question: If an IV or IV med is administered to the resident as part of an ambulatory surgical procedure that is subject to consolidated billing (e.g., it's included in the Part ASNF rate), can the facility then count that IV or IV med when coding the MDS? Answer: If the IV or IV med is part of a surgical or surgical-type procedure, it still cannot be coded on the MDS. Being part of consolidated billing does not make a difference.
