A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to establish a safety-net Medicare outpatient prescription drug benefit for indigent beneficiaries without other outpatient prescription drug coverage. Introduced Oct. 17 by Rep. Dan Burton (R-IN), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and the Committee on Ways and Means. HR 3355. A bill to amend title XVIII and XIX of the Social Security Act to establish minimum requirements for nurse staffing in nursing facilities receiving payments under the Medicare or Medicaid programs. Introduced Oct. 21 by Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), referred to the Committee on Energy and Commerce and The Committee on Ways and Means.
