The following bills were introduced in the Senate:

S. 437. A bill to amend titles XVIII of and XIX of the Social Security Act and title III of the Public Health Service Act to improve access to information about individuals' health care operations and legal rights near the end of life, to promote advance care planning  so that individuals' wishes are known should they be unable to speak for themselves, to engage health care providers in disseminating information and assisting in the preparation of advance directives, which include living wills and powers of attorney for health care. Introduced Feb. 10 by Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL), referred to the Committee on Finance.

S. 438. A bill to amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to repeal the Medicare outpatient rehabilitation therapy caps. Introduced Feb. 17 by Sen. John Ensign (D-NV), referred to the Committee on Finance.

S. 445. A resolution to amend part D of title XVIII of the Social Security Act, as added by the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003, to provide for negotiation of fair prices for Medicare prescription drugs. Introduced Feb. 17 by Sen. Debbie Stabenow (D-MI), referred to the Committee on Finance.
