Enforcement Activities A Response To Uncovering Evidence Of Fraud, Say Reps

Fraud-fighters narrow focus to areas that will save the most money.If you're disconcerted by the unannounced enforcement activities by the Health & Human Services Office of Inspector General which spring up periodically, you can stop looking for a pattern. The OIG itself doesn't know about enforcement efforts in advance, said its representatives in the webcast "OIG Outlook 2013," which was posted on the OIG website on Oct. 24.The OIG doesn't talk about its enforcement activities in advance because they don't plan them in advance, said Larry Goldberg, principal deputy inspector general, during the webcast. "The enforcement activities are a response to uncovering evidence of fraud," he noted.
