If you get a call or email from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) referencing your Medicare reimbursement, you may want to respond, a recent update suggests. Details: The BLS sends out surveys to gauge Medicare fee-for-service payments for both hospitals and healthcare providers, and the results impact approximately $300 billion in Medicare reimbursement, an MLN Connects indicates. “Recently, many healthcare providers didn’t complete the [BLS] survey, which can reduce the representativeness of the data and increase volatility in estimates,” the MLN Connects says. “Your participation in these surveys helps address these issues and increase the validity of the data.” “Participation is voluntary, confidential, and the data are only used for statistical purposes,” the release adds.
