Don't Forget These OASIS Changes

What you need to know about the new regulation The OASIS regulation that took effect June 21 includes other changes besides eliminating the seven-day lock requirement, the National Association for Home Care & Hospice reminds providers.
 
The regulation:

 • requires OASIS data submission within 30 days of the completion date in M0090;
 • adds a new optional field for the NPI;
 • issues a warning for a value of "00" in the primary diagnosis severity code item (M0230);
 • adds consistency checks for ulcers and wounds; and
 • adds a consistency check between the Medicaid ID item (M0012) and the State ID item in the header record.
